FOOLSTYLE
(For DDR unless otherwise noted)
THE COBRA

USED ON: Anywhere, chiefly on vertical jumps
VARIATIONS: Egyptian Walk or Standard
ORIGINATED FROM: Eddie@RTF
PAIN FACTOR: 0/5
DESCRIPTION: One of the moves Foolstyling was born from. The arm either goes
behind the back or is tucked under or in front of the 'striking' arm, with
the hand flat. In the more common second variation, there is no movement or
thrusting of the hands, but in the traditional egyptian walk style cobra,
movement may be used.
THE CRANE

USED ON: Well spaced lone arrows, primarily down arrows
VARIATIONS: Standard
PAIN FACTOR: 0/5
ORIGINATED FROM: The Karate Kid (the movie, not a person!)
DESCRIPTION: I gave the diagram above a suit, top hat and cane for some reason.
The Crane consists of balancing on one leg, lifting the other high up, and the
arms held out to either side (can be tucked in with the hands out or stuck right out with
the hands drooping down).
THE ESCAPE DOG

USED ON: .59/Trick towards the end of the middle bit, Eat You Up/All and similar stuff
VARIATIONS: Striking cheeks, scooping to mouth or scooping from mouth
ORIGINATED FROM: GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF
PAIN FACTOR: 1/5
DESCRIPTION: The 'Dog' version of the Escape Dog is as simple as slapping yourself
on the cheeks repeatedly in time with fast half-beat steps or anything faster.
In Eat You Up, a slight variation is used: to match the words, you 'eat' by stuffing your
face full of invisible food, and then 'spit' it back up by scooping the invisible food out again.
You then run it into the ground by stomping like a lunatic.
THE HEADBUTT

USED ON: Very low difficulty songs!
VARIATIONS: Standard, Crane (down arrow) into double kneedrop (left-right arrows) into
headbutt (up arrow).
ORIGINATED FROM: GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF
PAIN FACTOR: 3.5/5
DESCRIPTION: Self explanitory. To successfully execute a headbutt with minimum damage, strike
the stage with reasonable force and give it a bit of a push. Do NOT charge at it. Neither BOM nor myself will
be responsible for injury. Make sure you don't miss. Be on your knees before you do this. This requires at LEAST 2 beats to
execute, but 4 is optimal. For the second variation of this, you need 5 minimum (1 empty step
between each move).
THE MONKEY

USED ON: Anything with a horizontal jump, primarily
VARIATIONS: Standard or vertical
ORIGINATED FROM: Eddie@RTF
PAIN FACTOR: 0/5
DESCRIPTION: Similar to a star jump. Jump with your legs out horizontally and touch your fingertips on the
top of your head, not your whole hand. Don't hold them there! The vertical version of this is the same except for
vertical jumps, and you line your arms as straight front to back as possible (the rearmost elbow will stick out so this is rarely used).
THE TWO GOOD

USED ON: Any time you get 1 or 2 goods in something, especially with a 5% or less great percentage
VARIATIONS: The Two Poor (other Bemani game version)
ORIGINATED FROM: Generic
PAIN FACTOR: 3/5
DESCRIPTION: This is the term for when you drop a combo at the end of a song, thus ruining an otherwise outstanding combo/score, and then
proceeding to punch the machine with such force that you bruise, cut or break your hand, thus meaning you are limited in foolstyle
moves for a while.
THE KNACKERED WALRUS
(No pic available yet)
USED ON: Diagonal jumps
VARIATIONS: Crotch or stomach
ORIGINATED FROM: GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF
PAIN FACTOR: Varies
DESCRIPTION: Punch yourself in the nuts or in the guts, then fall onto your knees
while grunting in pain. This is the knackered walrus. Try to fall on the arrows. It's the purpose
of the move. It helps if you only gently knacker yourself. This is a great couple foolstyle move.
Be creative - roshambo a bit, use baseball bats, or knacker each other!
TAKE ME HIGHER
(No pic available yet)
USED ON: Any song with the words "Take me higher" in it
VARIATIONS: Various ways to land
ORIGINATED FROM: EBE@RTF (inspiration)/GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF (foolstyle execution)
PAIN FACTOR: Varies
DESCRIPTION: Whenever someone in the song says "Take me higher", climb on the black ledge
where people put their bags and stuff unless the arcade owner put the side decals there. Sing really
loudly and off key, then land on the upcoming arrow using whatever part of the body you can (feet are usually
safest). Not recommended unless there are at least 2 arrow spaces at 125bpm.
THE MAMMOGRAM
(No pic because stick figures don't have manboobs)
USED ON: Anywhere
VARIATIONS: Manboobs or asscheeks
ORIGINATED FROM: A WWF Smackdown! character for the PSX game
PAIN FACTOR: 0/5 (3-5/5 for the audience)
DESCRIPTION: Requires manboobs. Squish your manboobs together and rub them a bit. Please don't actually
do this. This is a good move for DMX. Well, good as far as DMX moves go.
THE DANCE OF LUST
AKA Fabio's Dance of Lust
(No pic yet)
USED ON: Left/right arrow sequences, DMX, PPP
VARIATIONS: Standard only
ORIGINATED FROM: Fabio's Dance of Lust (on the old TV show Full Frontal)
PAIN FACTOR: 0/5
DESCRIPTION: Using alternating left/right steps, hold your left elbow fairly
close to your body and raise the left forearm just a bit up from pointing out
horizontally (let's say 30ø). As you raise the arm to this position, raise your
leg similarly - so the knee and upper leg extend at the same angle as the arm,
and the rest of the leg hangs down freely. Your right arm should move across
also at the same time to have the hand near to the left hand, and at the same
level and a similar angle. It should end up looking like you're a puppet being
dangled to the left. Now, simply mirror this action to the other side, and do this
back and forth continually to do the 'dance of lust'!
THE DUCK THRUST
(No pic yet)
USED ON: PPP - hold arrows or arrows pointing straight ahead
VARIATIONS: Other angles possible. Also 'duck' can be replaced with 'ass'
ORIGINATED FROM: GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF
PAIN FACTOR: 0/5
DESCRIPTION: Requires one daft looking coin pouch from Dollars & Sense. Simply
attach it to the front buckle of your belt (if you have one) and thrust it forward whenever
appropriate. You can quite effectively combine this with your knees, too. You can also use
your ass if you're too cheap to buy a coin pouch, but it's kind of hard to see what you're doing
with your back to the screen.
THE DRUNK MONKY
(No pic yet)
USED ON: Any Bemani game
VARIATIONS: The Drunk Ape, The Drunk Giboon
ORIGINATED FROM: GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF (moves), Beatmania (name)
PAIN FACTOR: Varies
DESCRIPTION: Pretend you're a drunk monkey. Simply jump around a lot with your
arms curled way out and facing back in towards you, make "oo-oo" noises, and use the Take Me Higher
move a LOT. Also crouch and jump up and down on repeditive single arrows in DDR. The Drunk Ape is a variation on the
rather boring and non-foolstyle 'gorilla step', consisting of rocking your whole body, jumping up and down psychotically with heaps
of force (don't do this when attendants are looking or they'll boot you out!), and optionally kidnapping someone's girlfriend, climbing on top
of the machine in question and throwing flaming barrels at your opponents (likewise don't do this when attendants are looking!). The
Drunk Giboon consists of hanging off the back bars in DDR by your feet and hitting the steps with your hands. Needless to say, don't try Maniac
songs with this!
THE RAPSCALLION
(No pic yet)
USED ON: Any DDR song
VARIATIONS: Standard only
ORIGINATED FROM: GurtyGurt@BOM/RTF (when waiting for someone else to get on - who didn't get on)
PAIN FACTOR: 1/5
DESCRIPTION: Stand next to the DDR stage on the side you are playing, and hit all the arrows with your feet from
there, without stepping onto the stage with both feet, or jumping. This can prove interesting when jumps come up - if
they're diagonal, you can simply press two arrows at the same time, but others require either two people
or a REALLY fast slide, which is VERY hard to do...but possible! Barely.
